Where NanoEFX has been named

This page lists publications that name NanoEFX. It is not a results page. Not one of these reports attributes a measured figure to our product, and none of them was written to. They record that it was used — in projects and markets we do not control, alongside products we did not supply.

That is worth listing. It is not worth more than it is. If you want measured results — with the method stated, the limits beside the number and the duty cycle with our most limited result — the place for that is the evidence section, not this page.

About the figures in these reports

Most of what follows covers a single shipyard programme in which NanoEFX was one of more than a dozen measures. The performance expectations published for that programme — for fuel and for emissions — were stated by the shipyard for the complete package, and they were published before NanoEFX was added to the scope. Seven of the reports make that sequence explicit in their own wording.

They are not NanoEFX figures. No report in this list attributes any figure to NanoEFX. We do not restate them here, in either direction — the same treatment we gave the marine fuel numbers in our own inspection study, and for the same reason: a number that is not ours does not become ours by being quoted accurately.

A shipyard retrofit programme, reported across six countries

In May 2025 the Dutch shipyard Damen completed a retrofit programme on four bulk carriers for BAM Shipping, financed through Atal Solutions. The programme bundled more than a dozen separate measures — among them air lubrication, carbon capture, propulsion changes, a hull and propeller coating, frequency converters and shore power.

NanoEFX was one of four measures added after the original scope had been set. That sequence is not a detail. The fuel and emissions expectations published for the programme were formulated for the package as it stood before our product was part of it.

The announcement was picked up by the maritime trade press in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Türkiye and Chile. What follows is one announcement in eleven renderings — not eleven independent confirmations. Several differ from the shipyard’s own wording in detail.

What this coverage establishes — and what it does not

  • It establishes that NanoEFX was specified and used in a named commercial marine programme, by a shipyard that had no reason to name it otherwise.
  • It does not establish anything about what NanoEFX contributed. No report separates the measures. At the time these were published, the independent verification of the programme had not been completed, and we hold no verified result from it.

One thing worth correcting, because the reports themselves cause it

Several of them list every measure fitted to the ships in a single sentence, which places NanoEFX beside fuel additives and oil additives. It is neither. NanoEFX is an intake-air treatment applied to the filter medium — not a fuel additive, not an oil additive, not a coating and not a mechanical retrofit. That distinction is the whole of what the product is, and a list of everything fitted to a ship is not where it survives.

Our own marine position is unchanged

We have no marine fuel figure we stand behind. Our marine record is a single Komatsu main engine on a Japanese training ship over 1,875 operating hours, opened afterwards at a shipyard and examined by the manufacturer’s service agent. We publish what that inspection found, including the two conflicting readings on carbon deposits — and we withdrew every fuel figure from that series, in both directions, including one substantially higher than anything we claim.

Coverage under the original name

Before NanoEFX was sold in Europe, the same product was developed and sold in Japan by EiShin under the name eco-SPRAY, and it is still sold there under that name. Japanese coverage is therefore about EiShin and eco-SPRAY — not about ECO EFX Solutions GmbH, and not about the product as we supply it today. We list it because it is part of where this product comes from, not as evidence for what it does.

Why we do not repeat the Japanese figures

Japanese operators and Japanese reporting state fuel performance in kilometres per litre. That is an efficiency measure. It is not a consumption measure, and the two do not convert one to one — a gain in km/L is always a smaller cut in fuel than the number suggests. We state our own results as consumption reduction, and we explain the conversion, including the weeks our own analysis got it wrong. So we neither reproduce those figures here nor convert them: the underlying measurements were never published with a method, a testing body or a sample size.
