Certifications & recognition

What is formally documented about NanoEFX — quality management, a United Nations technology listing, patents and safety documentation — with the status of each stated plainly, including where a document is available on request rather than published here.

What exists, and what each one means

A certification says something specific. Below, what each one actually covers — and what it does not.
ItemWhat it coversStatus
ISO 9001Quality and consistency are managed in line with the ISO 9001 quality-management standard. It covers how the product is made and controlled — not how well it performs.Certification details available on request
UNIDO STePP listingListed on the Sustainable Technology Promotion Platform operated by UNIDO ITPO Tokyo. A listing recognises the technology as relevant to sustainable industrial development; it is not a performance test.Published listing — publicly verifiable
PatentsThe underlying technology is patented in Japan (2018) and in the United States (2021), as recorded in the industry–university joint research report.Patent numbers available on request
REACHWater-based formulation, REACH compliant.Stated on product documentation
Safety data sheetsSafety data sheets exist in EU, UN, US and UK formats, in several languages, covering handling, storage and disposal.Available on request
Engine safetyA marine main engine opened after 1,875 operating hours and inspected by the manufacturer’s service agent: no corrosion, no abnormality.See the teardown

Independent listing: the NanoEFX entry on UNIDO ITPO Tokyo’s Sustainable Technology Promotion Platform is public and can be checked without going through us — view the STePP listing. Background on the relationship is on the Partners & UNIDO page.

An important distinction

A certificate is not a result

Quality certifications, technology listings and patents describe how a product is made, recognised and protected. None of them says how much fuel it saves on your fleet — and any supplier who presents them as if they did is telling you something other than the truth.

ISO 9001 is about process

It documents that manufacturing and quality control follow a managed system. It makes no statement about fuel efficiency or emissions.

A UNIDO listing is recognition, not testing

It recognises the technology as relevant to sustainable industrial development. It is not an efficiency measurement and does not certify performance.

A patent is about novelty

Patents establish that the technology is new and protectable. They do not establish that it works to any particular degree.

Performance lives elsewhere

For performance, read the trials, the measurement methodology and the teardown — where the method and the limits are stated alongside every number.

Certifications — FAQ

Common questions

Can we see the ISO 9001 certificate?
Yes — certification details are available on request. Ask us through the contact form and we will provide them for your supplier due-diligence file.
Is NanoEFX approved by any emissions authority?
No, and we do not claim to be. NanoEFX is not an emissions certification and does not make a vehicle compliant with any standard. What we can show is an accredited emissions measurement on one vehicle and a diesel van that passed an accredited test after treatment having failed before it.
Do you have safety data sheets for our jurisdiction?
Safety data sheets exist in EU, UN, US and UK formats and in several languages. Tell us the jurisdiction and language you need and we will send the applicable document.
What does the UNIDO listing actually mean?
It means the technology is listed on UNIDO ITPO Tokyo’s Sustainable Technology Promotion Platform as relevant to sustainable industrial development. It is public, so you can verify it yourself. It is recognition of the technology’s relevance — not a performance test, and we do not present it as one.
